Regarding selling of property inherited through will

Situation : Hi My grandfather recently passed away leaving behind a property (purchased by his own funds) to his 3 sons equally. As per will, all three have full and exhaustive rights for their own portions. Now, we are 2 brothers and my father would like to sell off his portion and look to purchase property in some other area. My father (and uncles) have got their legal heir certificate already and mutation is done. Now, my question is - does my father also need to probate in order to sell the property? Any other legal step to be considered? I've also read that in reference to succession law that - "A Hindu man does not hold absolute ownership of the inherited property, but jointly owns it with his legal heirs." Does this hold valid in this case?
