Is it safe to purchase a property with power of attorney issue greater than 30 years ago?
Situation : I am planning to buy a house (1200 square feet) and that the parent document showed that there were three brothers who owned around 4800 square feet originally and that one of the brother was given power of attorney to sell just 1800 square feet but he seems to have sold 2500 square feet. Our said property (1200 square feet) falls under this 2500 square feet, but exact boundaries were not listed in the power of attorney document. From then, the property has been sold to two other persons and the last person from whom I have been trying to purchase has built a house and had paying all property taxes for the past 20 years. Please let me know if there would be any issue for me in buying this property.
